Philippe Van der Velpen
Philippe Van der Velpen has over 20 years of experience as an Interior Architect & Senior workspace consultant.
Before starting at Prepared Mind in 2014, he worked at AOS-Studley, Eurostation and Atelier De Bondt. He was responsible for workplace organization and consulting, design and project management.
He got his start as a certified interior architect at the St. Lucas Institute in Schaerbeek – Brussels. He refuses to concentrate only on the shell but also projects a sense of Wabi-sabi that is as much inside as outside. Characteristics of the wabi-sabi aesthetic include asymmetry, asperity (roughness or irregularity), simplicity, economy, austerity, modesty, intimacy, and appreciation of the ingenuous integrity of natural objects and processes.
Philippe is a petrolheaded skifanatic who loves his family, the expressionism of Permeke, the way Jimi Hendrix plays his fender, the tasty pickings from land and sea in Italian food, Edgar.P.Jacobs, the iconic number 27 and the beauty that lies in the imperfection.
Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
